Director of Laboratory Support Services

William Wright oversees Janelia Farm's laboratory materials services and the campus's library. He is also responsible for services related to lab administration and environmental health and safety. Wright has a B.A. from Erskine College in South Carolina. Before coming to Janelia Farm, he spent 25 years in the private sector, directing the manufacturing operations of firms in the medical devices, nutritional food products, and biotechnology industries.

Most recently, Wright was senior director of operations at Osiris Therapeutics, a biotechnology company in the United States that specializes in commercializing stem cell products from adult bone marrow. Wright says he was drawn to Janelia Farm by the opportunity to be surrounded by people working collaboratively in the quest for biomedical discovery.
